Get a human

A website cannot sit with you. An AI cannot either, no matter how kindly it is prompted. If your life is currently a high-conflict split, you need a person with a license, a door that closes, and no interest in your Twitter feed. This page is a map, not a referral. We do not take fees. We do not know your case. We will not hand you six names and a coupon.

Which human, roughly

  • Your own therapist — for the part of you that wants to send the 11:40 text, disappear, or win the story. This is the one most people skip, and it is the one that actually changes Tuesdays.
  • A coparenting counselor or parenting coordinator — for the logistics between two adults, when a court or a consenting pair will allow it. This only works if both people will sit in the room. Many will not. That is data, not a moral failing of the furniture.
  • A child specialist — for the kid, who is not your messenger and not your witness. Ask whether they will see the whole family or only one house. One-house-only is how stories harden.
  • A family lawyer — for orders, not for feelings. If you want feelings, see bullet one. If you want an order changed, do not ask a blog.

How to tell a serious person from a souvenir shop

A serious clinician will not diagnose “parental alienation syndrome” from your story in session one. They will want history, the other parent’s existence, and the child’s actual words. They can hold two ugly ideas at once: that a parent can recruit a child into a war, and that a parent can cry “alienation” to cover something the child was right to refuse.

Walk out if you hear:

  • A guaranteed reunification, especially on a timetable, especially at a camp.
  • A plan that requires the child to confess they were wrong.
  • A willingness to work only from your account and call it an evaluation.
  • Contempt for the other parent as a form of bonding with you. That is not treatment. That is a barstool.
  • Legal strategy dressed up as therapy. Different building. Different insurance.

Where to look, without us picking winners

Look up the license. In most U.S. states there is a public board for psychologists, counselors, social workers. If they cannot be found on the board, they are a podcast. Psychology Today is a search tool, not a blessing. Ask whether they have actually worked high-conflict coparenting, not whether they have read a book with “alienation” in the title. For the professional literature, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts is where the adults argue in complete sentences.

What this site will not become

We will not match you with a chatbot that plays therapist. We will not give the bot your child’s name, your docket, or a script for the driveway. If there is ever a companion here, its only job will be to help you not send the paragraph. Treatment stays with humans. That is not a branding choice. That is how you avoid making this worse with better software.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, use the emergency number where you live. If you are in the U.S. and you are in a crisis, 988 is the suicide and crisis line. This page is for Tuesdays. Tuesdays are hard. They are not 911.
